EDWARD ROGERS may not be a household name, but for the past decade and change he has been quietly putting out records that synthesize British and American pop from the 1960s to the 1980s with precision and beauty. His latest epic release Glass Marbles presents 19 songs (culled from 50 actually written!) that were written and recorded over a year's time, featuring songs celebrating the past, present and future in equal measure. THE POP GROUP exploded brilliantly in the late '70s-early '80s and then members splintered off for years to other worthy musical projects. They reemerged in the 2010s with great performances, a new album (Citizen Zombie) and some essential reissues. This legendary east-coast originated band provided the missing link between The VELVET UNDERGROUND/LOU REED/BRIAN ENO on one end and R.E.M./NEUTRAL MILK HOTEL/DECEMBERISTS on the other. The latest instrumental album by FEELIES' co-founder GLENN MERCER sounds like the perfect soundtrack to an imaginary road film, and incorporates all the depth, fun and surprise that the great FEELIES' releases had in spades. TODD RUNDGREN was a founding member of the band NAZZ which started in Philadelphia and released two notable LPs in the late 1960s. When he left the band in 1969, RUNDGREN decided to pursue a career as a music engineer and producer and was given a chance to produce The BAND's Stage Fright among other records. The itch to write and record original music persisted, though, and in 1970 RUNDGREN released his first solo LP Runt. Hear highlights of that album, his 2nd solo record The Ballad Of Todd Rundgren, and his 3rd solo release Something/Anything? (presented in its entirety) on the first of a series of TODD-centric GE shows. Genius is hard to suppress, fellow music geeks!

The GUESS WHO are best known for their AM and FM hits like "American Woman" "No Time" and a gazillion others, but from 1969-1973 they put out a series of interesting and eccentric records that missed the public's eye but caught the ear of a young adolescent Rock'N'Roll Nurse.
