Episode #125: Lord of the Onion Zings-A Tribute to Chris Krohne

Chris Krohne was part of the fabric of Radio Valencia and his passing was truly tragic to all of us here, in particular to Joe Tocci who was his show partner for the seminal show "First Time Listener, Long Time Caller". Joe has announced the retirement of that show as he and Chris were 50/50 partners in that show, and he sees no way to continue it without him.
Chris also hosted a show at the Knock Out called Lord of the Zings. It was a stand-up comedy open mic night every third Friday of the month. It's hard to imagine its continuance in his absence. He was dedicated to creating that platform for burgeoning comics to hone their craft in a small and safe venue where they could work their bits and curb their flop sweat.
Although he took the moniker DJ Deathwish, and he lived a little on the edge of things, his zest for living was unquestionable. In recent months he had stepped away from radio to focus on his creation of new music and was loving it. When he last appear on my show a couple weeks back we discussed plans to collaborate on new projects and see what our shared minds could create. Though I only knew him for a few years, he felt like a forever friend, a confidant I could trust. I will miss him greatly.
This show is to pay tribute to him with some of the quirky music he liked and stand-up comedy bits as well. Please enjoy and keep him in your memory.
